Dina Pappas is an award-winning quilt-maker, shop
owner, teacher, lecturer, author, and pattern designer. Her work led
to the development of Pellon's Quilter's Grid, a preprinted
interfacing for use with watercolor piecing. Dina is the
author of the best-selling books More Quick Watercolor
Quilts (June 2001) and Quick Watercolor
Quilts (Sept 1999). Dina's third book,
Fast-Forward Your Quilting (Jan
2004), features a new approach to quick piecing traditional
quilts. She currently owns an ever-expanding quilt shop, Dina's Cozy
Cabin Quilts, in Eagle River, Alaska.
Dina has appeared as a guest on
HGTV's television program, Simply Quilts,
episode #628 Watercolor Quilts. The
Floral Bordered Heart quilt featured on the cover of Quick
Watercolor Quilts is the topic.
Dina designs quick and easy
quilting patterns for all experience levels. The Fuse,
Fold & Stitch method uses fusible interfacing for accurate results with 85% fewer
seams. Her quilts have been published by McCall's Quilting magazine
and on the cover of CNA, a trade magazine, and displayed in Houston
at the International Quilt Market.
Dina sewed as a girl,
but it wasn't until she was engaged to her soon-to-be husband that
she made her first quilt. She crafted a queen size quilt
for their wedding present. After this project, she was
hooked and her quilting passion grew as she moved around the
country with her husband. Dina's quilting was influenced
by living in Arizona, California, Washington, Alabama, Michigan, and
Alaska.
Dina lives in Eagle River,
Alaska, where quilting is not limited to the "long winter
nights" but is a year round passion. Endless summer days
produce beautiful flowers for inspiration (and an occasional snack
for the neighborhood moose). Dina enjoys her Alaska adventures
with her husband and their two sons.
Dina now travels around the United States lecturing and
teaching. She has led presentations to introduce products for
Pellon & Benartex at Quilt Market and other trade shows.
She encourages students to give watercolor quilting a try and enjoys
seeing them proud of their work. Quilters across the
United States and worldwide have purchased her books
and patterns. Currently most of Dina's time is
spent closer to home, in her quilt shop helping
others create new quilts.
Dina's Cozy Cabin has been in
business since 1992, growing year after year. Our constant
goal is to provide great service to our customers and help them
experience the beauty and joy of life through
quilting. |
