If
you have taken the “ABCs of Quilting” class and have finished your
lovely quilt top and wish to machine quilt it, this class may be for
you. You will
learn how to layer your quilt top, batting and backing; and you’ll
learn how to baste it in preparation for machine quilting. We will discuss the various
basting methods and will explore the fundamentals of straight and
in-the-ditch machine quilting. (Note: All machine quilting will be
with the feed-dogs up; we will not cover free-motion quilting
techniques during this class.)

Double Irish Chain
Teacher:
Margaret Smith $40

Supplies
The Double Irish Chain is for quilters that have made
at least one quilt.
This quilt will brighten a room with your favorite focal
fabric. Traditional backgrounds were muslin, but today’s quilters
have so many gorgeous fabrics to choose from. The Outer Chain fabric
creates two chains running on the diagonal through the quilt. The
Center Chain runs in the middle of the two Outer Chains. These
fabrics can be of any value, as long as they contrast with the
background. Jelly Roll
sized strips are assembly-line pieced into Block A and B, then
joined with all seams locking together, making matching easy to
do.
